Preventive Dentistry

Although we can use a wide variety of materials and techniques to restore your teeth, we would prefer that you never have dental problems in the first place. We stress education in our practice, using one-on-one talks and the CAESY patient education system. We want to help you understand the best way to care for your teeth and gums so that you can enjoy optimal oral health.

Teeth cleanings

Periodic teeth cleanings are important for several reasons. They let us remove the tartar and plaque that build up around your teeth, helping prevent periodontal disease. Also, when you come into our office on a regular basis, we can monitor the health of your teeth and gums and look for any signs of change or problems.

Periodontal treatments

Periodontal disease is a serious bacterial infection of your gums that can cause jaw bone and tooth loss if left untreated. Periodontal disease has also been linked to systemic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease and to low birth weight babies.

If you have periodontal disease, we can treat it in our Naples offices using non-surgical techniques including irrigation of your gums and antibiotics. Once we have your periodontal disease under control, we’ll work with you to prevent recurrences.

Extractions

We can perform routine extractions, such as non-impacted wisdom teeth, in our Naples offices. That’s due, in part, to the wishes of our patients, who tell us they’re not as comfortable in any other dental office.

Full and partial dentures

Although we work hard to save your teeth, there are times when it’s not possible to do so. We can carefully fit you with a set of full or partial dentures that will enable you to speak and chew naturally. We may even recommend implants to help you get a more natural look and feel with your dentures.
