Digital X-Rays

assistant showing patient x-rayOur Naples office is committed to investing in the latest dental technology, and that includes tools that let us see inside your mouth with greater clarity. Using digital x-rays, we can clearly identify all external and internal anatomical structures to accurately diagnose your dental problems.

What’s more, Dr. Makram can translate the information collected by our x-ray machine into a large, clear image. We can display this image on a monitor, where the two of you can study the results together. Seeing your smile on a screen will make it easier for Dr. Makram to highlight your needs and explain your treatment options. As the most important member of your dental team, you need to understand how your smile is doing so you can make informed choices about your own care.

Better Results with Digital Technology

Traditional x-rays were developed in a dark room with hazardous chemicals and then displayed on a special light board. These results then had to be stored in a special filing system. But worse than either of these is the radiation exposure that came with taking traditional x-rays.  Digital radiography has completely transformed this entire process, not only resulting in better images but improved safety as well.

When you come to our office in Naples, FL, a tiny sensor will be placed in your mouth. This sensor will collect information about your smile while exposing you to 90% less radiation. What’s more, your images can be viewed immediately; we don’t have to use hazardous chemicals to develop them. Once on display, Dr. Makram can rotate and magnify your x-rays as necessary to explain your results. When we’re done with your x-rays, they can be easily and inexpensively stored on our computer, where we can always access them later. We can also reproduce them any time we need to.

If you want to learn more about digital radiography, call our Naples dental office today. We’re always happy to explain the new innovations in dentistry and how they can improve your dental experience.
